Widasla has completed over 120 press installations worldwide, many involving large presses. However, two standout projects involved exceptionally large presses.
The first project entailed a 14-unit Heidelberg Speedmaster SM105 XL LYY7LYYL LX3 with Foilstar. This press was disassembled at a facility in Italy, carefully packaged for shipment to South Africa, and subsequently installed.
The second notable project involved a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL105 8LYYL LX3 with Foilstare, which underwent dismantling in Italy was prepared for shipping and then installed at a customer’s location in America.
The initial finishing machine we sourced and installed was a 2007 Muller Martini Acoro A7 perfect Binder. Subsequently, we acquired an MBO K800 folding machine, a 2011 Muller Martini Bravo Plus saddle stitcher, and a 2012 Polar 115XT cutting and jogging line.
These installations were completed within the first six weeks of integrating the Finishing business into our Group, coinciding with Antony’s arrival at the company.
Our most recent machines are a Bravo Plus saddle stitcher and a late-model Presto II.
In any industry, incidents leading to equipment damage are inevitable. Such damage can have severe repercussions during the printing process. For instance, items passing through the press by hand can cause harm to cylinders and rollers.
Before the inception of Widasla Electroplating, damaged cylinders had to be extracted from the press for repair. However, with our innovative system, repairs can now be conducted while the cylinder remains in the press.
This approach is highly effective, and the repairs are seamlessly integrated, rendering them utterly imperceptible upon completion.
